1. Do the Cheer & Dance Teams cheer
at School Sporting Events?
Answer: Both the cheer & dance do cheer for Football and Basketball
and any other events that the school requests. We also do performances
for other school related events throughout the year.
2. How much does the team require?
Answer: You will be required to be enrolled in the designated
cheer and dance class/es through RCC every semester. These classes
form your practices. Practice days and times will be determined
at a later date, but
typically practices are held in the late evening two nights a
week.
3. Does the team compete?
Answer: Both teams compete locally and nationally. Please note
that there are a limited number of spots on the competition team.
We will select the most talented, committed and dedicated students
to make-up the competition teams. This selection process will
occur throughout the season.
4. What are the requirements to make the
RCC Dance Team?
Answer: We are looking for dancers with formal technical training
in jazz and ballet. Hip Hop experience is a plus. We would like
to see a minimum of double pirouettes, turns in second, leg hold
turns, and jumps in second.
5. What are the requirements to make the
RCC Cheer Team?
Answer: We are looking for cheerleaders with tumbling and stunting
experience.
SMALL COED:

ALL GIRL REQUIREMENTS:

Alternates may be chosen
for all teams, and members may be adjusted throughout the year
depended upon skill development and need. All team placement is
decided by the Coaching staff and can changed at anytime
6. What do you need to bring to tryouts?
Answer: There is a $20.00 try-out fee. Cash Only. If you are not
currently 18 years of age you will need an adult to come to sign
your registration information.
7. When do you find out if you make the
team?
Answer: You will find out by the end of the audition. There will
be cuts during the audition until the coaches feel they have the
team they need for the upcoming season. There will be an orientation
immediatley following try outs.
8. How are tryouts run?
Answer: The tryouts are run like any audition. First cuts will
be after motions and jumps. Then we will move to tumbling for
cheer. The dancers will go across the floor like any Jazz class.
After that there will be a cut. From that point you will be taught
material and expected to perform said material in which there
will be another cut until the final team is chosen. Tryouts are
closed to spectators.
9. What do you wear for tryouts?
Answer: Sports bra and shorts
10. What costs are involved?
Answer: New team members can expect to pay $900 for uniform and
accessories, college camp, and summer tumbling for cheer, and
summer technique class for dance. Veterans can expect to pay $425
for uniform accessories, college camp, summer tumbling for cheer,
and summer technique class for dance. These amounts are broken
down into payments for your convenience. However, if you are selected
you must be prepared to make your first payment of $400 by May
7th. Some fundraising opportunities will be available for assistance
with the remaining balance.
